Gift Certificate Program Maintain SALES
The Greater Olean Area Chamber of Commerce Gift Certificate program had another great year with a 2010 sales figure of $455,895.00, which is just under the 2009 total of $474,495.00. Record daily walk-in sales of $22,610 and $20,270 in gift certificates were recorded on December 2nd and December 21st respectively. The month of December had sales of $221,525.00.
“Businesses and residents' support of the Chamber's Gift Certificate program allow us to keep this program viable for the community. Sales come in via phone calls and emails from customers in Tennessee, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Florida, New Hampshire, Canada, Ohio, and Pennsylvania purchasing gifts for residents in the Olean area, not just during the holidays but year round,” said Nancy Morgan, GOACC’s Membership Coordinator. “The uniqueness of the program is that it encourages redeemers of the certificates to discover products and services available at businesses in our area, businesses that support the Chamber of Commerce. After all, it is good business to do business with Chamber members. We encourage you to spend your gift certificate within 24 months of receiving it” Ms. Morgan added.
GOACC instituted the Gift Certificate Program in 1995 with certificates totaling $9,000 sold and 35 member businesses participating in the program. The gift certificates can be redeemed at more than 248 member businesses. New businesses to the gift certificate program include: Parkview Supermarket, Salamanca; Smooth Facials & Waxing; Subway Sandwich Shop, all in Olean and Portville; WW Vandalia Gas; Dave’s Diner; Kamery’s Meat; Rainbow International of the S. Tier (Cleaning & Restoration Services); Cattaraugus County Arts Council; and West End Beverage Redemption.
The gift certificates are sold year round and come in denominations of $5, $10, $20, $25 and $50 and and can be redeemed for a vast array of products and services. Look for the GOACC logo designating a business is a member in good standing of the Chamber. Purchase the gift certificates at the Chamber at 120 North Union, Olean, NY.
HOW TO PURCHASE -- Stop in at the Greater Olean Area Chamber of Commerce, 120 North Union Street, downtown Olean, call to place a pick-up order at (716) 372-4433, or email for details. We do accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express but please do NOT send credit card information via email to member@oleanny.com. Regular hours are 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM Monday-Friday.
