2007 Farm City Days and Antique Auction
Going Once Going Twice, The Weekend was Filled with Activities!
GOACC planned a weekend full of excitement, food and entertainment. The reintroduction of Farm City Days and the introduction of the first Antique Auction highlighted the weekend of August 3 and 4. Both events drew a tremendous number of people shopping and looking for bargains, good food or just enjoy being in Olean.
Farm City Days was held Friday, August 3 and Saturday, August 4, 2007 with hours 9 AM - 7 PM on Friday, and Saturday 9 AM - 5 PM. North Union Street was opened to traffic. More than 40 retail and non-profits businesses signed up to participate, most located on North Union Street, with several on State Street as well. A list of vendors is below.
Activities and Events that happened during Farm City Days included: Farmers Market; inflatables; musicians; a Hawaiian Luau, Dance and Flag Team and the Great Squirrel Chase.
ANTIQUE AUCTION -- GOACC, JCC Alumni, and United Auctions & Antiques presented the Inaugural Antique & Collectible Auction on Saturday, August 4 at the Cutco Theater on the JCC Campus. Quality antiques were consigned and the proceeds from commissions will be going to worthy causes for each organization.
Some of the antiques and collectibles consigned included a Fredrick Remington Bronze on Marble; Mahogany Corner China Cabinet with Spade Feet; Framed Icart Painting; and Deco Style Child Candlesticks. There was also estate jewelry featuring gold Rings - ruby, diamonds, blue topaz, opal, amethyst, emerald, tourmaline, onyx, pearls, and more.
