RECORD BREAKING NUMBERS at this year's Corporate Challenge
OLEAN – Both the participants numbers in the challenge race/walk and the number of cereal boxes donated had significant increases. The unofficial run/walk count was 841 participants (775 last year) representing 41 companies. The cereal challenge went from 1,789 last year, to more than 2,896 - an increase of more than 60%!
The sixth annual Southern Tier Corporate Challenge Run/Walk was hosted by the Greater Olean Area Chamber of Commerce and the Olean High School Sports Boosters. The event was created by GOACC with the goal of supporting companies in creating internal wellness programs. The race was open to both corporate and community teams. The challenge concluded with "Olean’s Largest Office Party" with music by The Colonial Radio Media and Entertainment Group.
Chris Napoleon of Napoleon Engineering Services was named fastest CEO in the annual Southern Corporate Challenge. The FASTEST MAN was presented to Tim Chichester of Four Mile Brewing Co.; and the FASTEST WOMAN Kady Weisner of Bysiek CPA.
Team Awards include: Fastest Male Team, Corporate Division – Dresser-Rand – Tim Kaminske, John Stahley, Coty Winchell, and Brian Grosso; the Fastest Co-ed Team, Corporate Division –Four Mile Brewing - Nick , Gregg Piechota, Wendy Van Curren and Preston VanCurren; the Fastest Female Team, Corporate Division – CUTCO Cutlery Corporation - Angela Colamaio, Elizabeth and Anna Augostini, and Pam Bailey, and the Fastest Co-ed Team, and Community Division – Bysiek CPA, Trevor Poag, Owen Barber, Arnim Alexander and Kady Weisner.
Other specials awards include the Most Spirited Team – Allegany Limestone Central School; Most Walkers – The ReHabilitation Center; and Logo Design Contest Winner -- HomeCare & Hospice and Total Senior CAre. KelKur Electrical Contracting."
The Chamber challenged companies to donate cereal to the Olean Food Pantry. 1117 boxes of cereal were donated from the employees at Dresser-Rand, which had most boxes collected in total. SolEpoxy had the most boxes collected per employee.
