The Santa Claus Lane committee has scheduled Saturday, November 7 from 9 AM - until finished to decorate Olean’s Lincoln Park.  The committee is seeking volunteers to decorate the park for the holidays.  Some organizations that volunteered in the past include the Olean Exchange Club, EvenStart, Olean YMCA Kids Zone, the Olean Rotary Club, Allegany-Limestone Central School’s Government Class, Genesis House, and the Cattaraugus County Association of Realtors.  We encourage children ages 14 and up and adults to participate.  We encourage those assisting with decorating to bring a stepladder, staple gun, and work gloves.

Santa’s elves will be assisting with decorating the park by: lighting up Santa’s cottage; placing cone shaped trees; setting up reindeer, Santa’s train, snowmen, triangle trees; lighting up the gazebo; and placing more than 150 strands of lights on bushes and trees.

The decorations will be lit up officially on Friday, November 27, during the Annual Santa Claus Lane parade.  The holiday lights attract people from a 100 mile radius to travel to Olean for recreation, services, and shopping.  For more information regarding Santa Claus Lane or to register your organization, please contact GOACC at 372-4433, stop in at GOACC, 120 North Union, Olean, or email to volunteer.
