The mission of the Olean Public Library is to assist all people with their educational, informational, and recreational needs. Your library card gives you access to the holdings of all 38 libraries in the Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Library System in person and via inter-library delivery. Besides books, magazines, newspapers, videogames, and DVDs, your library also provides access to eBooks & aAudiobooks through the Libby App, downloadable movies via Kanopy, museum passes for checkout, kids launchpads, educational kits, disc golf sets, genealogy assistance, computer tutoring, information lookup services, a “take what you need” Comfort Cabinet, databases for info and grant searching, application help for the NYS Talking Book and Braille Library, and meeting space for area non-profits. Our programing includes story hours for children/their caregivers and a summer reading program for all ages; teen activities including Dungeons and Dragons, Jack box game nights, and a Teen Room; crafting programs for adults, kids, and/or teens; and outreach opportunities for community groups. Visitors are welcome to the library to utilize our resources, the children’s play area, WIFI, public computers, printing/faxing ($), scanning station, videophone, used book sale, view the Art Gallery exhibit, or attend one of our numerous Children’s Teen, or adult programs.
